The Hultafors Chopping Axe HY is an axe suitable for small-scale tree felling manufactured in blasted and clear lacquered ironwork. The wooden handle is curved and made of hickory.
The axe is hand-forged and manufactured from Swedish axe steel according to tradition since 1697, it takes many blows of a hammer to process the axe steel, but this improves its density and makes the axe more durable. The clear hard zone on the axe can be sharpened without altering the strength of the cutting edge and the handle is made of hickory and is treated with linseed oil.
